FAQs

I use Zoom Scheduler for all bookings. For new students, please book a consultation call on my Scheduling Page or send me an email at chemwchristine@gmail.com so we can connect!

After our first meeting, we'll set a weekly recurring meeting with flexibility to add extra sessions before exams.

I charge on an hourly basis for the time we spend together in sessions, and this encompasses additional support outside of session time including my preparation for your session, creating your custom study plans, and email questions.

Please reach out for my current rates.

I use Zoom for online video sessions, and the Zoom virtual whiteboard so that we can collaborate on practice problems. I'll always have my video on in virtual sessions. For students in the Seattle area, I have some availability to meet in person at the UW library.

It varies depending on my students' needs - generally we'll alternate between bite sized explanations of concepts and a focus on working through practice problems collaboratively. No long one-sided lectures! The key to succeeding in chemistry is practice, practice, practice. And working together with an experienced tutor helps you get through many practice problems a lot more efficiently.

I've primarily tutored students at: UW, OSU, SPU, SeattleU, Bellevue College, Everett College, UCSD, UCLA, UCSC, UCR, UCI and other UCs, as well as a variety of other colleges across the country.

The courses I have tutored the most students in are:
- UW: Chem 142, 152, 162, 110, Chem 223, 224, Chem 237, 238, 239
- UCSD: Chem 4, 6A, 6B, 6C, Chem 40A, 40B, 40C
and the equivalents of these courses at the universities listed above.

If your college or course isn't listed here, feel free to reach out! I have found that the content is generally the same across institutions (and even with different professors at the same institution) so the main difference is the order of content and which topics are favored. I'm always happy to chat with any prospective students to see if we're a good fit even if your institution or course isn't listed here.

Please feel free to email me at chemwchristine@gmail.com and I'm happy to talk more about whether working with me would be a good fit for you or your student.

If you’d like to speak on the phone, please schedule a consultation call on my Scheduling Page.
